The true identity of Gunjoo Jung's character in ‘Bitter Sweet Hell’ has been unveiled.

In the 10th episode of the MBC Friday-Saturday drama ‘Bitter Sweet Hell’ (planned by Kwon Seong-chang, directed by Lee Dong-hyun and Wi Deuk-gyu, written by Nam Ji-yeon, produced by Red Nine Pictures), which aired on the 22nd, it was revealed that Moon Tae-oh (played by Gunjoo Jung) was not only the ally of Lee Sena (played by Yeonwoo) but was also impersonating a Korean University student, shocking the viewers.

Jae-jin (played by Kim Nam-hee), who first met Tae-oh at the psychiatric clinic, discovered that Tae-oh had deliberately approached him knowing his secrets. Suspicious of Tae-oh's sudden change in behavior, Jae-jin confided everything that had happened to Yeong-won (played by Kim Hee-sun). Quick-witted Yeong-won started investigating Tae-oh, and upon meeting the real Korean University student Moon Tae-oh at the hospital where he volunteered, it was revealed that the Tae-oh they knew was an impostor, leaving everyone in shock.

However, Tae-oh's secrets did not end there. Jae-jin discovered that Tae-oh and Sena had grown up in the same orphanage and that his real name was ‘Oh Tae-hwan.’ Furthermore, it was revealed that Tae-oh and Yeong-won had a past connection as doctor and patient's family, respectively. This incident revealed that Sena, knowing Tae-oh harbored ill feelings towards Yeong-won, had recruited him as her ally, orchestrating the entire scheme, adding a chilling twist.

Convinced that Tae-oh was the culprit who attacked her mother-in-law Sa-gang (played by Kim Hye-young), Yeong-won sent a text pretending to be Do-hyun (played by Jae-chan) to lure him. Tae-oh, unsuspectingly going to meet Do-hyun, found himself face-to-face with Yeong-won, who knew his true identity, culminating in a tense cliffhanger that heightened anticipation for the next developments.

Gunjoo Jung delivered a powerful performance, vividly portraying Tae-oh's ‘strong to the weak, weak to the strong’ personality, leaving a strong impression on the viewers. He masterfully depicted Tae-oh's contrasting nature—showing vulnerability in front of the fierce and ruthless Sena, yet ruthlessly dominating over those he could manipulate, like Jae-jin. With all of Tae-oh’s secrets now out in the open, attention is focused on his next moves and the unfolding story with Yeong-won, as the series reaches its conclusion.

The final episodes of MBC's ‘Bitter Sweet Hell,’ featuring Gunjoo Jung, will air on Friday, the 21st, and Saturday, the 22nd at 9:50 PM KST.
