Actress Hoyeon received a standing ovation at the 81st Venice International Film Festival.
On August 29th and 30th (local time), Jung Ho-yeon graced the red carpet at the 81st Venice International Film Festival for two days in a row, attending the premiere of Apple TV+’s 'Disclaimer'. She stunned the audience with a bold red dress on the first day and captivated the spotlight again the next day in a daring black dress with striking cut-out details.
A highlight of the event was Jung Ho-yeon’s two-shot with Cate Blanchett, the lead actress of 'Disclaimer.' U.S. entertainment outlet The Hollywood Reporter commented, "Hoyeon was a central figure for Gen Z attendees lined up on the red carpet. When she stood in front of the cameras alongside Cate Blanchett, cheers erupted." The meeting between these two global stars drew immense attention.
Hoyeon’s latest project, Apple TV+’s 'Disclaimer', had its world premiere at the 81st Venice International Film Festival. 'Disclaimer' is a psychological thriller series that follows journalist Catherine (played by Cate Blanchett), who has built her reputation by exposing the misdeeds of others. The plot thickens when she receives a novel from an unknown author. In the series, Hoyeon plays the role of Jisoo, working closely with Cate Blanchett.
Renowned entertainment media outlet Variety reported, "Apple TV+’s 'Disclaimer' received an enthusiastic response from the Venice audience. After the screening, attendees gave a five-minute standing ovation, showing immense appreciation." The Hollywood Reporter echoed this sentiment, noting, "Despite the film’s over three-hour runtime, when the lights came on in Venice’s Sala Grande, the audience rose from their seats to give a round of applause."
Hoyeon has previously appeared at prominent award shows such as the Gotham Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG), Critics Choice Super Awards, Emmy Awards, and the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) as both a presenter and an awardee. Notably, she made history as the first Korean actress and the first non-English speaking actor to win a SAG Award for Best Actress.
With her successful debut at the Venice International Film Festival, the world’s oldest and one of the "Big Three" international film festivals, all eyes are on Jung Ho-yeon’s continued global success.
