Actress Kim Kumsoon Wins Best Actress Award at the '2024 Buil Film Awards'.

Actress Kim Kumsoon won the Best Actress Award at the '2024 Buil Film Awards' on January 3rd at Signiel Busan. The Buil Film Awards, established in 1958, is the first domestic film award in Korea and one of the oldest and most prestigious awards in the country. It is held annually during the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). Kim Kumsoon was praised for her emotional and bold performance in the role of 'Jeong-sun' and was honored with the Best Actress award.

Receiving the trophy amidst a round of applause, Kim Kumsoon expressed her gratitude, saying, "I sincerely thank you for this precious award. Although my body and mind were exhausted, I want to share this honor with Director Jeong Ji-hye, the cast, and the passionate staff who worked through the challenges alongside me in those intense days portraying 'Jeong-sun.'" She added, “I will continue to act with care and dedication in every scene. Thank you.”

Kim Kumsoon played the lead role of 'Jeong-sun' in the film Jeong-sun, released in April. Her performance as a middle-aged woman who experiences the collapse of her life after becoming a victim of digital sexual violence, and her courage to reclaim her life, was both detailed and explosive, carrying the film's 104-minute runtime.

Her powerful performance garnered acclaim both domestically and internationally. With Jeong-sun, she won the Best Actress Award at the 17th Rome International Film Festival and the Best Acting Award at the 27th Busan Indie Film Festival. Now, with the Best Actress award at the '2024 Buil Film Awards', Kim Kumsoon has achieved a remarkable triple crown.

Meanwhile, Kim Kumsoon will be starring in the upcoming film The Killers, set for release on October 23rd.
