Actor Shim Woo Sung left a strong impact, provoking anger from viewers with his performance in A Virtuous Business.

In episodes 6 and 7 of JTBC's weekend drama A Virtuous Business (directed by Jo Woong, written by Choi Bo Rim, provided by SLL, produced by High G Studio, 221b),  Gyeong Sik (played by Shim Woo Sung), was caught committing a crime by his high school classmate, Jeong Sook (played by Kim So Yeon).

Earlier, Gyeong Sik coincidentally met his high school classmate Jeong Sook selling adult goods, and greeted her warmly. With a bright smile, he invited her to his house, claiming his wife was interested in her selling products. However, when Jeong Sook arrived, he suddenly changed and adopted a threatening attitude, leaving her in terror.

Soon after, Gyeong Sik's secret was revealed. Due to his abnormal sexual preferences, his wife had run away, but he had been pretending to maintain a normal marriage, deceiving the residents. When Jeong Sook realized this, he immediately changed and forcefully tried to make her wear a slip meant for sale, roughly pulling her, revealing his true face.

Fortunately, Gyeong Sik's criminal actions were thwarted when Do Hyun (played by Yeon Woo Jin), who sensed something wrong followed him. When Gyeong Sik was arrested by the police, he shouted at Jeong Sook, saying, "You tell them. What did I do to you?" He continued to show his shameless attitude, even denying his actions during his testimony, saying, "Am I that kind of person who would do that?" This behavior enraged viewers.

Shim Woo Sung perfectly portrayed the dual nature of Gyeong Sik, seamlessly switching from a kind-hearted rural classmate to a criminal, which enhanced the drama's immersion. In particular, the scene where Gyeong Sik's true nature is revealed—his innocent expression slowly turning into a chilling smile—demonstrated his solid acting skills, accumulated through his experiences in dramas, films, and theater, leaving viewers in awe.
