Actress Jung Hoyeon made a strong impression on Apple TV+'s The Disclaimer.

Premiered on December 11, The Disclaimer is a psychological thriller series about Catherine (played by Cate Blanchett), a journalist who builds her fame by exposing the others' wrongdoings. She receives a novel from an unknown author, setting off a series of events. Jung Hoyeon plays Jisoo, Catherine’s assistant.

Jisoo is depicted as a character who holds great respect for Catherine, even going as far as holding up the trophy Catherine received at an awards ceremony and placing it prominently on her desk. She later meets Stephen (played by Kevin Kline), the author of a novel about Catherine's past, and stirs up trouble by revealing the existence of the book within the company.

Despite it being her first performance in English, Jung Hoyeon showcased her distinct presence with stable vocal delivery and strong acting. She skillfully portrayed Jisoo's sharp intellect and ambition, especially in scenes where she tries to understand whether there are hidden intentions behind Catherine's orders. Notably, in a scene where Jisoo listens to Stephen recount Catherine's story, Jung Hoyeon displayed subtle and precise facial expressions, capturing Jisoo's psychological shift toward Catherine, further immersing the viewers in the drama.

Jung Hoyeon took her first step into Hollywood through Disclaimer. She appeared alongside world-renowned director Alfonso Cuarón and Hollywood actors such as Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline. In August, she attended the premiere at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, and in October, she participated in the 68th London Film Festival (BFI), where she garnered significant attention.

Once again, Jung Hoyeon is showcasing a new side of herself to the world. As she continues to carve her own path as an actress, her next steps are highly anticipated.
