[NEWS] ‘Check in Hanyang’ Jung Gunjoo-> Kim Jieun, ‘gaze+tone+expression’ with affection

‘Check in Hanyang’ #JungGunjoo became Yongcheonru's official clerk.

In the 5th episode of Channel A's weekend drama Check in Hanyang (written by Park Hyunjin, directed by Myung Hyunwoo, produced by WIMAD, Artist Studio, Story Networks, and co-produced by PONY CANYON), aired on the 4th, the character Junhwa (played by Jung Gunjoo) was shown struggling to pass his final task.

In this episode, Junhwa set out to rescue Deoksu (played by Kim Jieun), who had been taken to the Jakyakjae. Junhwa secretly entered Jakyakjae, which prohibited male visitors, to find Deoksu after learning that he had been sent there as a gift for an elderly guest at Yongcheonru. However, the elderly guest turned out to be Do Gyeong (played by Kwon Eunbin), the niece of the Minister of Military Affairs, and the gathering was meant to showcase the clothing Deoksu had been wearing.

Junhwa brought ice to Deoksu, who had been slapped by Do Gyeong for causing a scene. Meanwhile, Junhwa sensed a strange tension between Deoksuand Lee Eun (played by Bae Inhyuk) and questioned Lee Eun, asking, "Do you really have something with Hong Deoksu?" The unexpected response, that they had been trying to protect the same thing, created an air of tension.

The next day, the final task to officially become Yongcheonru's clerk was given. The Haona 4 was disheartened that they had to entertain Do Gyeong, whom they had clashed with the previous day. They tried everything to please her, from bringing her water to preparing a breakfast table and picking fruit for Do Gyeong's parrot, but they failed to win her favor.

Do Gyeong even freed her parrot from its cage and ordered Deoksu to bring it back. While searching for the parrot, Deoksu saw through Do Gyeong's longing for freedom and began to devise a plan to take her out for a brief escape. While Deoksu distracted the guards by taking a different route, Junhwa accompanied Do Gyeong to the lake. When they arrived, Junhwa discovered Deoksu holding hands with Lee Eun and gave them a meaningful glance.

After briefly enjoying their freedom, the Haona group returned to Yongcheonru. They received their certificates of acceptance from Do Gyeong and officially became clerks. However, Myungho (played by Lee Howon), who had been suspicious of Deoksu, revealed the truth about her being a woman. Junhwa stepped in to stop him, leading to another crisis.

Jung Gunjoo has been captivating viewers with his portrayal of Junhwa, whose growing feelings for Deoksu are shown through his expressions, tone, and gaze. Whenever Deoksu faces a crisis, Junhwa steps in to resolve it, taking care of her with attention to detail and approaching her in his own unique way. Meanwhile, Junhwa has observed the enigmatic relationship between Lee Eun and Deoksu, raising curiosity about how his character will evolve amid this development.

Meanwhile, Jung Gunjoo stars in Channel A's weekend drama Check in Hanyang, with Episode 6 airing tonight (5th) at 9:10 PM.
