In Check in Hanyang, #JungGunJoo steps up to save Kim Jieun.

In the 7th episode of Channel A’s weekend drama Check in Hanyang (written by Park Hyunjin, directed by Myung Hyunwoo, produced by Channel A, WEMAD, Artist Studio, and Story Networks, co-produced and invested by PONY CANYON), Junhwa (played by Jung Gunjoo) is seen struggling to free Deoksu (played by Kim Jieun), who has been imprisoned.

When Deoksu is arrested as the suspect in the Seochon murder case, Junhwa confronts the guards and says, “Isn’t there some kind of mistake?” Despite his efforts, Deoksu is taken to the police station, and Junhwa seeks his father Lord Cheon (played by Kim Uisung) for help. Junhwa asks him to lend money to bribe the Minister of Defense (played by Yoon Jemoon) to release Deoksu. However, his father refuses, stating that if Deoksu is worth it, he should solve the issue on his own.

Junhwa then turns to Seol Maehwa (played by Kim Minjung), respectfully asking, "I shall sell everything I have to save Deoksu. Can you please be on my side?" However, Seol Maehwa also refuses. With no other choice, Junhwa heads to a pawn shop to sell all his precious belongings, but Lord Cheon has already prevented him from borrowing money. Junhwa ends up selling everything he owns but is only able to acquire a small amount of silver.

With all his assets in hand, Junhwa goes to the Minister of Defense to bribe him, but his small gift ends up offending the minister instead. The minister teaches him a lesson in negotiation, scolding him for showing all his cards from the start. With no other options, Junhwa eventually returns to his father and kneels, saying, "Buy me." He offers himself in exchange for saving Deoksu.

Seeing this, Lord Cheon believes Junhwa now has the potential to become the successor to Yongcheonru and gives him advice on the necessary terms for negotiation. Using what he learned, Junhwa explains, "Hong Deoksu will be someone like the innkeeper Seol Maehwa to me. He is crucial for me to follow in your footsteps," and successfully negotiates to save Deoksu. This move highlights Junhwa’s potential to grow into the next grand leader, raising anticipation for his future path.
