Kang Yoon in 'Study Group’, displaying a ruthless charisma
Actor #KangYoon will star as Cha Seon-ho in the TVING original drama Study Group.
Kang Yoon’s agency, Saram Entertainment, announced, "Kang Yoon will appear as Cha Seon-ho in the TVING original drama Study Group."
Study Group (directed by Lee Janghoon and Yoo Beomsang, written by Eom Seonho and Oh Bohyun, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by YLAB PLEX, and provided by TVING) is based on the popular webtoon of the same title. The series follows Yoon Ga-min (played by Hwang Minhyun), who wants to be good at studying but is only talented in fighting, as he dives into a bloody entrance exam battle at the worst school and forms a "study group" in this comedic high school action drama.
Kang Yoon will play Cha Seon-ho, the cold-hearted education head of the Yeonbaek Standing Guard, a violent organization. He will portray a character who's against the students of the Study Group, showcasing his chilling nature while leading dynamic action scenes that will add tension to the story.
Kang Yoon has built his acting career with roles in various works, including the movie THE ROUNDUP : NO WAY OUT and dramas like Royal Secret Agent, God’s Quiz: Reboot, and The Sound of Your Heart Reboot. He has also been active on stage, with performances in plays such as Young Bride, The Man and The Woman, Bold Romance, and Ward Battle. Having participated as a crew member on the variety show SNL Korea Season 9, Kang Yoon has broadened his presence by taking on diverse roles across the screen, TV, and theater. Notably, his intense visual and solid acting in his role as Hiroshi, a Japanese Yakuza involved in drug trafficking in THE ROUNDUP : NO WAY OUT, left a lasting impression.
With his exceptional acting skills, Kang Yoon has built a broad portfolio across various fields. Expectations are high for his upcoming works in future projects.
