'Check in Hanyang’ Jung Gunjoo took his first step as the next grand proprietor.
In the 12th episode of Channel A's weekend drama Check in Hanyang (written by Park Hyunjin, directed by Myung Hyunwoo, and produced by Channel A, WIMAD, Artist Studio, Story Networks, and co-invested by PONY CANYON), the character Cheon Jun-hwa (played by Jung Gunjoo) was shown struggling between love and friendship.
On this day, Jun-hwa suddenly went to find Seol Mae-hwa (played by Kim Minjeong), who was leaving for Uiju. Seol Mae-hwa told Jun-hwa that he was different from his father, Cheon Bang-ju (played by Kim Ui-eong), and believed that if he became the grand proprietor, Yongcheonru would change as well. She advised Jun-hwa to cherish friends like the Haona quartet and asked him to protect Deok-su instead of her if anything were to happen.

However, due to the growing closeness between Lee Eun (played by Bae Inhyuk) and Deok-su (played by Kim Jieun), Jun-hwa (played by Jung Gunjoo) began to feel jealous. Jun-hwa noticed that Lee Eun liked Deok-su and confronted him, saying, “Did you break off your engagement because of Hong Deok-su? Prince Muyeong?” revealing that he knew Eun’s true identity. Lee Eun realized that the woman Jun-hwa had confessed to liking was Deok-su, and Jun-hwa, sensing that Lee Eun shared similar feelings, questioned him “Are you in love with her?” but received no answer.
Jun-hwa then went to his father, Cheon Bang-ju (played by Kim Ui-seong), who advised him to tame a young tree rather than a big one, suggesting it would be much easier. He further told Jun-hwa that they must tame the Seongyang family under their control instead of the Muyeong family. When Cheon Bang-ju told Jun-hwa that he could no longer be friends with Lee Eun, Jun-hwa seemed to make a decision and asked for some people to be sent with him. Jun-hwa, along with his father’s people, headed to Hong Min-sik’s house, where he witnessed Lee Eun and Deok-su's kiss. This sudden shift in relationship deepened the curiosity abouy how things would unfold.

Jung Gunjoo heightened the viewers’ immersion by portraying the complex emotions of Cheon Jun-hwa through just his eyes and expressions. As Jun-hwa watches the woman he loves being taken by his friend, the question arises whether he will follow his father’s path to protect his love, or if he will turn to a darker path as the next grand proprietor. His future choices are something to watch closely.
Meanwhile, the Channel A weekend drama Check in Hanyang, featuring actor Jung Gunjoo, airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:10 PM.
