“If you want her to be happy, let her go”

‘Check in Hanyang’ Jung Gunjoo witnesses Bae Inhyuk and Kim Jieun’s Kiss.
The 12th episode of Check in Hanyang (aired on the 26th on Channel A), written by Park Hyunjin, directed by Myung Hyunwoo, and produced by Channel A, WIMAD, Artist Studio, Story Networks, with co-investment by PONY CANYON, achieved a nationwide viewership rating of 3.1% (according to Nielsen Korea, based on paid households), setting a new record for the show. The highest viewership in a single minute soared to 3.5%, continuing the upward trend.

On this day, Lee Eun (played by Bae Inhyuk) and Deok-su (played by Kim Jieun), who shared the common goal of the golden key, grew closer quickly. Jun-hwa (played by Jung Gunjoo) noticed that she behaved differently towards Lee Eun. Jun-hwa revealed that he knew Lee Eun was from the Muyeong family and advised Lee Eun to stop hiding his true identity and return to where he belonged. Seeing Jun-hwa’s reaction to Deok-su’s matters, Lee Eun realized that the woman Jun-hwa had feelings for was Deok-su. Jun-hwa desperately pleaded with Lee Eun, saying, “The world you live in is different. If you truly want her to be happy, let her go.” However, he couldn’t get the answer he was hoping for.
Realizing that he could no longer be friends with Lee Eun, Jun-hwa asked his father, Cheon Bang-ju (played by Kim Ui-seong), for warriors and ordered them to chase after Lee Eun. However, Jun-hwa missed him and headed to Deok-su’s house. There, he witnessed Lee Eun and Deok-su's kiss, and the look in Jun-hwa’s eyes—filled with shock and sadness—left a bittersweet ending, adding to the viewers' sympathy.

Jun-hwa, who would go to any lengths for Deok-su, always stepped in first whenever Deok-su was in danger. To rescue Deok-su from prison, Jun-hwa didn’t hesitate to sell all his belongings and kneel before his father. He also put great effort into making Deok-su, who had lost his mother and could barely eat, a bowl of soup he had learned from his mother. Jun-hwa, who would even become the grand proprietor for Deok-su, now faces Lee Eun and Deok-su’s true feelings, raising curiosity about what changes and choices he will make in the future.
As a result, viewers expressed their strong support for Jun-hwa with comments such as, "I feel so bad for Jun-hwa," "Jun-hwa should give up, but he saw everything," "I like Jun-hwa’s character, so it hurts even more," "It’s so sad seeing tears fill Jun-hwa’s eyes," "I hope Jun-hwa doesn’t lose his kind heart," "The situation between Jun-hwa and Deok-su is heartbreaking, but things are complicated," "I’m scared Jun-hwa might turn dark," and more.
Meanwhile, the Channel A weekend drama Check in Hanyang, starring actor Jung Gunjoo, airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:10 PM.
