In the 14th episode of Channel A's weekend drama Check In Hanyang (written by Park Hyunjin, directed by Myung Hyunwoo, produced by Channel A, WIMAD, Artist Studio, Story Networks, and co-invested by PONY CANYON), aired on February 2, Cheon Jun-Hwa (played by Jung Gunjoo) was shown taking control of power to win the heart of Hong Deok-Su (played by Hong Jaeon / Kim Jieun).
On this day, Jun-hwa was shocked to learn that his family and Deok-Su’s family were enemies. To uncover the truth, Jun-hwa visited Cheon Bangjoo (played by Kim Euisung) and believed the lie that Seol Maehwa (played by Kim Minjeong) killed Deok-Su’s father. Jun-hwa then decided to protect Deok-Su with his power, saying, "Please give me your support. Hong Jae-on, I will take responsibility from now on." He asked Su-ra (played by Park Jaechan) to monitor Deok-Su’s every move and report back to him. Using money and power to get what he wants, Jun-hwa resembled his father, Cheon Bang-joo.
Jun-hwa ascended to the position of the new innkeeper, and it was revealed that he is the son of the Grand Proprietor. Myeong-ho (played by Lee Howon) believed that Su-ra was taking advantage of Jun-hwa's power and started to bully him. In return, Jun-hwa sought revenge on Myeong-ho in the same way. Angry, Myeong-ho called Deok-Su over and attempted to strip her to check her gender. Witnessing this, Jun-hwa could not contain his fury and beat Myung-ho unconscious and appeared covered in blood. In front of the officials who had disrespected his father, he held a cow's tongue and coldly warned, "That reckless tongue of yours! Be careful with that tongue, elders," sending a shiver down their spines.
Jung Gunjoo fully immersed himself in the role of Jun-hwa, who underwent a complete transformation from his previously kind and gentle persona. His portrayal made viewers connect with Jun-hwa's evolving emotions. Jun-hwa, who no longer hesitates to threaten people or use violence, is heading down the same path as his father, Cheon Bangjoo.
