Actor Kang Yoon makes his first appearance in Study Group, leaving a strong impact with his cold charisma.

In episodes 7 and 8 of the TVING original drama Study Group (directed by Lee Jang Hoon and Yoo Beom Sang, written by Eom Seon Ho and Oh Bo Hyun, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by YLabFlex, provided by TVING), Kang Yoon plays Sunho, the training officer of the Yeonbaek Gang. He confronts the Study Group students in a tense showdown.

Following a command from Hanwool (played by Cha Woo Min), Sunho tracks down SoonChul (played by Joo Yeon Woo). When Sunho attempts to take him, he is stopped by Gamin (played by Hwang Min Hyun), whom he mocks before leaving. Later, the Study Group members, determined to rescue Sooncheol, find themselves at Yeonbaek Gang's headquarter. There, he spotted Jiwoo hiding under a chair and smirked menacingly before grabbing his hair. “The moment hatred in your eyes turns into fear—that's the most thrilling part,” he taunted. After making his threat, he knocked Jiwoo unconscious and loaded him into the car.

As soon as Sunho starts the car, Sooncheol blocks the front, and a fight ensues. Daecheol (played by Kwon Hyeong Seok), Mincheol (played by Han Jeong Hoon), and Jieun join in to fight Sunho, but they are no match for him. Finally, Gamin (played by Hwang Min Hyun) appears, and a battle between Sunho and Gamin breaks out once again. Sunho, wielding his weapon, begins to fight Gamin while grinning, clearly enjoying the confrontation. However, he eventually falls to Gamin's "foot technique" and, in his last attempt to retaliate, Sunho is knocked unconscious after Jieun strikes him in the vital spot.

Kang Yoon commanded attention from his very first appearance with his intense charisma. With his sharp visuals and flawless execution of high-energy action scenes, he heightened the tension in the drama to its peak. Drawing from his extensive experience across various genres, he exuded a strong presence on screen.

Kang Yoon has been active across dramas, films, and theater, showcasing his versatility. Notably, he left a lasting impression in THE ROUNDUP : NO WAY OUT as Hiroshi, a Japanese yakuza involved in drug trafficking in Korea, earning recognition as a scene-stealer. With another impactful performance in Study Group, expectations for his future endeavors continue to rise.
