Jung Gunjoo, Gong Myoung's Best Friend 'Lee Hongseok'

In the TVING original series Way Back Love, actor Jung Gunjoo showcased his bromance chemistry with Gong Myoung.
In episodes 1 and 2 of the Way Back Love (produced by CJ ENM and Studio Mondo, distributed by TVING) released on the 3rd, Jung Gunjoo grabbed attention with his portrayal of Lee Hongseok, Ramwoo's (played by Gong Myoung) best friend and the one and only board game partner.

Although Hongseok was in a different class, he still made time to play board games with Ramwoo during breaks, taking care of him as a true friend. He also discovered the environmental protection tattoo Ramwoo had drawn on his arm to intimidate the school bullies, and playfully took photos to tease him. Furthermore, when he found out that Heewan (played by Kim Minha) had asked Ramwoo to request inappropriate books from the library under his name, he loudly read out the list of rejected requests, making everyone laugh. However, in a touching moment at the end of episode 2, Hongseok is seen crying while following Ramwoo’s hearse, leaving viewers with a sense of sadness. This shift from their lighthearted moments to the emotional scene raised curiosity about what happened between them and what’s to come in the story.

Jung Gunjoo perfectly portrayed the playful high school student Lee Hongseok, wearing a Sailor Moon wig and playing board games on April Fool’s Day, capturing the attention of viewers. Transforming into Hongseok himself, Jung Gunjoo showcased a fun bromance with his best friend, Gong Myoung, making the audience smile. With his relatable "best friend" persona, Jung Gunjoo has drawn viewers closer, and there’s great anticipation for his ongoing performance.
Meanwhile, Jung Gunjoo stars in Way Back Love, which airs every Thursday at 12 PM on TVING.
