Actor Gong Myoung Crowned as “Seo the Almighty” of Bocheon
Premiered on May 12, tvN’s Monday–Tuesday drama Second Shot at Love (written by Myeong Soo Hyun, Jeon Ji Hyun / directed by Jang Yu Jeong / planned by Studio Dragon / produced by How Pictures) follows the story of a self-proclaimed “reasonable drinker” who reunites with her first love—a man who despises alcohol—and takes on the challenge of sobriety. It’s a sober-minded romance full of humor and heart. Gong Myoung takes on the role of Seo Euijun, the only doctor in the village of Bocheon and the head of the Bocheon health clinic. In the premiere episode, Geumjoo (played by Choi Sooyoung), who returns to her hometown after a breakup caused by drinking, runs into Euijun.
From the very first episode, Euijun establishes himself as an irreplaceable figure in the village, winning the affection of the residents. During a house call, he sternly warns an elderly patient with knee arthritis that he won’t provide treatment unless she follows medical advice. But moments after his scolding, Euijun steps in to help with the farm work himself, showing irresistible tsundere charm.
In a particularly heartwarming scene, Euijun even breaks into a cheerful work song at the elders’ request, adding a charm that captivated not only the villagers, but also viewers.
However, Euijun—who is kind and warm to everyone in the village—shows a noticeably different attitude when it comes to Geumjoo. When they run into each other by chance, he greets her stiffly with, “Long time no see, Han Geumjoo,” and avoids answering when friends ask why the two fell out.
This contrasts sharply with their playful, heart-fluttering high school days, leaving viewers curious: what exactly happened between Euijun and Geumjoo?
