In episode 2 of tvN’s Monday–Tuesday drama Second Shot at Love (written by Myeong Soo Hyun, Jeon Ji Hyun / directed by Jang Yu Jeong / planned by Studio Dragon / produced by How Pictures), which aired on the 13th, Geumjoo (played by Choi Sooyoung) continues to stir up trouble.

While heavily intoxicated, Geumjoo slips and nearly falls into oncoming traffic—almost colliding with Euijun (played by Gong Myoung)’s car. Shocked by her sudden appearance, Euijun swerves to avoid her but ends up crashing into a wall, injuring his leg and ending up in a cast.

Euijun sends Geumjoo the repair bill, but instead of paying him back in cash, she offers to be his personal driver for house calls. From helping out in elderly patients’ fields to fixing farm equipment and even handling chores at his home, Geumjoo takes care of Euijun in every possible way.

Just as Geumjoo and Euijun were beginning to grow closer while spending time together, a mishap throws everything off course—a birthday cake she had pre-ordered for her ex-boyfriend Jooyeop (played by Yoo Eui-tae) before their breakup is mistakenly delivered to his house. Realizing too late, Geumjoo rushes to Seoul to retrieve the cake, leaving behind her plans with Euijun. There, she unexpectedly runs into Jooyeop and his new girlfriend. Rather than apologizing for his infidelity, Jooyeop scolds Geumjoo, provoking her to hurl the cake in his face in a fit of anger. Humiliated, she ends up drinking again—despite the "no-alcohol rule" imposed on her.

Later, she runs into Euijun in front of her house. Not knowing what happened, he’s upset that she broke her promise to assist with his house calls and drank again. Unable to tell him the truth, Geumjoo quietly swallows her pain and says, “I wanted to be someone decent too... but it’s really not that easy.” Her words left viewers deeply moved.

Choi Sooyoung has won viewers’ hearts with her realistic portrayal of Geumjoo—a character who hides deep emotional scars behind a cheerful exterior. Her well-meaning nosiness toward others brings moments of laughter, but her quiet suppression of personal pain evokes sympathy. At the same time, her bold actions when necessary deliver a satisfying sense of catharsis. She also displays flawless chemistry with Gong Myoung, who plays Euijun, as their perfectly synced banter adds to the excitement—raising curiosity about the budding romance between the two.
