[NEWS] 'Second Shot at Love' Gong Myoung, Flawless “Seo the Almighty” Shocks with His Hidden Past: A Fridge Full of Alcohol!
“Stop meddling!” Gong Myoung & Sooyoung’s bickering romance!

A surprising past of actor Gong Myoung in Second Shot at Love has been revealed.
In episode 2 of tvN’s Monday–Tuesday drama Second Shot at Love (written by Myeong Soo Hyun, Jeon Ji Hyun / directed by Jang Yu Jeong / planned by Studio Dragon / produced by How Pictures), which aired on the 13th, the shocking past of the seemingly flawless “Seo the Almighty” Euijun (played by Gong Myoung) came to light.
After getting into a car accident while trying to avoid a drunken Geumjoo (played by Choi Sooyoung), Euijun ends up injuring his leg. He later sends Geumjoo a bill for car repairs and chauffeur service. In response, Geumjoo volunteers as his “one-day stand-in,” taking on various tasks for the village elders in his place.

Although Euijun is kind to everyone in Bocheon, he remains curt only toward Geumjoo. At one point, Geumjoo mistakenly believes that Euijun is also nursing a broken heart like her. In response, he coldly replies, “That’s not something you need to worry about and interfere in.” This wasn’t the first time Euijun had drawn a clear line—he had once told her, “Stop meddling and worrying about others,” leaving her hurt. His continued insistence on keeping his distance deepened viewers’ curiosity about their past.
But Euijun’s emotional wall didn’t last long. Upon hearing that Geumjoo had suddenly gone to Seoul, he couldn’t help but react—despite being exhausted from making house calls all day. Rising to his feet at the mention of her name, he confessed, “I can’t help but wonder if something bad happened,” finally revealing a glimpse of his true feelings.

Euijun wasn’t just hiding his feelings for Geumjoo. Believing she had gone to Seoul to party, he stormed home and stunned viewers by pulling a bottle of alcohol from the fridge and downing it straight from the bottle.
Gong Myoung masterfully portrayed Euijun’s complex inner world—a character who pretends not to care but is actually more concerned about Geumjoo than anyone else. He seamlessly conveyed the contrast between the warm smile he shows to the people of Bocheon and the loneliness he harbors behind closed doors, like quietly drinking alone at home. His nuanced performance only deepened the mystery surrounding Euijun’s hidden backstory, leaving viewers wanting more.
Meanwhile, episode 3 of Second Shot at Love, starring Gong Myoung, will air on Monday, the 19th, at 8:50 PM on tvN.
