[NEWS] 'Second Shot at Love' Gong Myoung, Delivers Both Heartfelt Confession and Quiet Comfort to Choi Sooyoung, Painting Monday Night in Romance!
“I Like You” — A Kiss Sooyoung Forgot, a Heart Broken

Actor Gong Myoung Painted Monday Night Pink with His Unwavering Affection for Choi Sooyoung
In episode 3 of tvN’s Monday–Tuesday drama Second Shot at Love (written by Myeong Soo Hyun, Jeon Ji Hyun / directed by Jang Yu Jeong / planned by Studio Dragon / produced by How Pictures), which aired on May 19, Euijun (played by Gong Myoung) was seen clearing up a misunderstanding with Geumjoo (played by Choi Sooyoung) and becoming a source of quiet comfort—her umbrella in the rain.
Previously, Euijun had misunderstood Geumjoo, believing she had broken her promise and gone to Seoul just to drink. But he recalled how she had stayed by his side with warmth after the death of his grandmother, his only family. With that memory in his heart, he smiled—deciding to trust her once again.

But Euijun’s resolve was short-lived. He was deeply disappointed when he saw Geumjoo shopping with the refunded deposit from her canceled wedding venue. “You look more like the one who got dumped,” he remarked coldly. “Did you even think about the people who got hurt because of you?”
Later, Euijun accidentally learned the real reason behind Geumjoo’s broken engagement and was struck with guilt, realizing how much his careless words must have hurt her. When he found her sobbing upon learning that her ex-fiancé was holding a wedding with someone else at the venue they had reserved, he embraced her in silence—offering quiet, heartfelt comfort.
It was also revealed that Euijun had long harbored feelings for Geumjoo. Back in college, he had once confessed, “I like you,” and kissed her. But the next day, Geumjoo, unable to remember what had happened, told a friend they were just nothing more than acquaintances. Euijun quietly turned away—leaving viewers with a heavy heart.

Gong Myoung completed Euijun’s emotional arc with a calm yet deeply expressive gaze, capturing the quiet sincerity of a man who nags not out of annoyance, but out of genuine care and a desire to see Geumjoo do better. Particularly moving were the scenes where Euijun noticed even the smallest changes in Geumjoo—quietly observing her when she looked down, or naturally smiling as he watched her laugh under the fireworks. His delicate attention to her unspoken feelings brought a flutter of excitement to viewers. Just as Geumjoo once stayed by Euijun’s side in his darkest times, now it is Euijun who quietly chooses to remain by hers. Viewers are left wondering how their relationship will continue to unfold.
Meanwhile, episode 4 of tvN’s Second Shot at Love, starring Gong Myoung, airs tonight (20th) at 8:50 PM on tvN.
