[NEWS] 'Second Shot at Love' Choi Sooyoung and Gong Myoung, Adorable Couple Pictorial
Couple Pictorial and Interview in Allure Korea June Issue

The couple pictorial featuring actors Choi Sooyoung and Gong Myoung has been released.
Choi Sooyoung and Gong Myoung, the lead actors of the drama "Second Shot at Love", took part in a couple pictorial for the June issue of the fashion and lifestyle magazine Allure Korea. In the photoshoot, the two showcased perfect chemistry reminiscent of their characters, Geumjoo and Euijun, from the drama, capturing lovely couple cuts. In individual shots, they exuded a chic atmosphere, revealing a wide range of charms.
In the interview conducted before the shoot, Choi Sooyoung shared, “I’m drawn to roles that are independent, proactive, and driven when I read scripts. I always ask myself, ‘What kind of growth does this character go through?’ and ‘What is the message the work wants to convey?’ The director clearly stated that this project aims to deliver a message about how tolerant our society is toward alcohol,”
explaining her reason for choosing Second Shot at Love.
Gong Myoung expressed his deep affection, saying, “I can’t talk about this without mentioning writer Myeong Soo Hyun. I experienced her wit and humor through the 2016 drama Drinking Solo, and I was instantly drawn to Second Shot at Love after reading the script. Her writing is concise, yet every scene vividly plays out in my head. Unlike Ramwoo from Way Back Love, I’m excited to show a more mature side of myself through the character Euijun.”

The drama Second Shot at Love tells the story of a self-proclaimed alcohol lover who reunites with her first love — someone who despises alcohol — and attempts to quit drinking. Choi Sooyoung explained, “My character Geumjoo and Gong Myoung’s character Euijun were really close friends in college, but he cut ties with her. Later, they meet again. The writer told a story about quitting alcohol, but I saw it more as a story about wounds and personal growth.”
She added, “Alcohol plays a big role in the journey of growth. I think everyone has some kind of addiction — not just to alcohol, but also to social media, relationships, or work. Things that prevent us from looking inward. In Second Shot at Love, alcohol represents that. It’s a drama that offers comfort and empathy to those who use such escapes to avoid facing themselves.”
Gong Myoung shared, “This drama made me reflect on the concept of addiction. There’s a scene where Geumjoo shouts, ‘I’m not an addict, I just enjoy drinking!’ and that line made me realize how addiction can creep in without us even knowing. These days, we often hear about dopamine addiction or phone addiction. I think this drama can give people a moment to ask themselves whether they might be overly dependent on something.”

Both actors have been continuously engaged in a series of projects throughout the year. Expressing her gratitude, Choi Sooyoung stated, “As an actor who is in a position to be chosen, simply having a project to be part of is, in itself, deeply fulfilling. I’m sincerely grateful that there are places that reach out to me and roles that allow me to contribute.”
Gong Myoung also reflected, “During my military service, I came to truly appreciate the value of work. I am profoundly thankful that there are still people who seek out the actor Gong Myoung and that I have opportunities where I can offer my abilities.”
Meanwhile, the full couple pictorial and interview with Choi Sooyoung and Gong Myoung is featured in the June issue of Allure Korea, available in bookstores and online. Allure Korea will also present various digital content via its official website and social media platforms.
